Unfortunately the external surfacing work suffers from moisture that is at risk of affecting this unique property and its collections. The NTS is now devising a new repair approach to protect not just Mackintosh’s magnificent external designs but also to protect Hill House’s important interiors and collections.

External repairs to the farmhouse were completed in early 2013, and internal restoration specialist work is now required to extend capacity for Threave’s School of Heritage Gardening.
