2013 is the Year of Natural Scotland, so there's never been a better time to get out and enjoy our stunning wildlife. Scotland's Big 5 are especially exciting to spot in the wild and include the iconic red deer, otter, golden eagle, harbour seal and red squirrel.

You may be surprised to learn that the red deer can be found in many parts of Scotland. However, for a truly great vantage point, take yourself up to Glen Affric in the Highlands. Glen Affric is widely regarded as the most beautiful glen in Scotland and at its heart are the magnificent remnants of the ancient Caledonian forest. It's the perfect place to witness a roaring monarch fending off the competition with its powerful roar.
